Dr. Melissa Jones

Dr. Melissa Jones earned her PhD from the University of Maryland in Counseling Psychology and has worked as a professor and consultant for 15 years. She has used her expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods to study diversity and gender dynamics, interpersonal relationships, and how people and organizations create, measure, and evaluate meaningful and sustainable change.  She has worked for 15 years to train therapists and educators on the importance of culturally competent clinical and educational practices. Dr. Jones is a popular public speaker on such issues as sexual assault, feminism, and women’s career development.

Dr. Mica McGriggs

Dr. Mica McGriggs earned a PhD in Counseling Psychology and went on to complete a post doctoral fellowship at Columbia University. Over the years Dr. Mica has worked as a consultant on issues of diversity and inclusion at the organizational level. Her unique training both as a clinician and researcher has enabled her to build a consulting model that harnesses both the creativity of innovation and the effectiveness of best practice. Dr. Mica has worked with a variety of top leaders from CEO’s of corporations, to Executive Directors of Non-Profits, to government Officials (including Police Chiefs) on issues of diversity and sustainable inclusion. Dr. Mica has contributed widely to the academic and public discourse on the intersections of race, gender, and religion/spirituality and has had the opportunity to have her work featured in media outlets including NPR, CNN, Teen Vogue, Fusion, CBS news, The Salt Lake Tribune, Huffington Post, News Week, and Seattle PI among others.

Kaneischa Johnson

Kaneischa Johnson is an inclusive leadership and culture advocate and consultant. She has been transforming teams, organizations, and individuals through her years across globally distributed and high growth SaaS tech startups, community development, and nonprofit spaces. As a consultant and anti-racism educator, she connects people to a lens that evolves their roles in capitalism - by prompting them to work and live in their purpose, making mindful decisions, and being open to constantly challenging their inherent biases and they systems they are a part of. Kaneischa is passionate about lifelong learning, skill-based talent development, and connection - by which all things are possible.

Dr. Amber Choruby Whiteley

Amber has her PhD in Counseling Psychology and now works as an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah where she teaches and trains future counselors and psychologists to be multiculturally-oriented clinicians. Amber’s passion is around exploring how oppression connects to depression as she continues to research topics of social justice and mental health as a member of the Diversity & Well-being lab at the University of Utah. She has written multiple papers on multicultural topics, including papers on the topic of how to best educate students when teaching about power and privilege. She has taught classes on Gender Studies, Identity & Inclusion, and Multiculturalism. Amber is passionate about consultation work as a way to help employees to understand themselves better and better themselves to lead to both personal and professional growth that leads to sustainable change within the organization and our larger society.

Dr. Penelope Asay

Dr. Penelope Asay (she-her) is a Board Certified Counseling Psychologist who earned her Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is the Program Director and Associate Professor of the Counseling Program at Marian University. Penny’s research and teaching interests include multicultural and diversity issues, social justice and advocacy, training and supervision, and career issues for women. An alumna of the Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology, she has done consultation and training in the areas of leadership, career development, and group dynamics. Penny is a passionate advocate for racial and gender equality and a skilled educator. 


Dr. Melissa Roffman

Consultant

Dr. Melissa Roffman (she-her) earned her PhD from the University of Maryland, College Park in Counseling Psychology and completed both her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Counseling & Consultation Services. As a licensed psychologist in Florida, she has worked full-time for the past 12 years with patients in healthcare settings, embedded within multidisciplinary primary care, endocrinology, and geriatrics clinical teams. These experiences have fueled her interest in supporting the resilience of health care providers, addressing burnout and compassion fatigue, and cultivating healthy organizations and teams through consultation and coaching. Dr. Roffman also has experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, with research interests in positive psychology, training and supervision, career issues for women, and LGBT issues. She has taught and provided trainings on a wide variety of topics including counseling/communication skills, multicultural and diversity issues, career development, health psychology topics (e.g., evidence-based treatments for insomnia), managing caregiver stress, and healthcare provider well-being.

Dr. Tyler Lefevor

Tyler Lefevor, PhD, is an assistant professor of psychology at Rhodes College. His research and teaching focus on the ways that racial/ethnic, sexual, gender, and religious identities help construct systems of power and privilege. He also maintains a private psychotherapy practice focused on helping gender and sexual minorities from a variety of religious and racial/ethnic backgrounds integrate their identities and live vibrant lives. As a consultant, Dr. Lefevor specializes in helping companies examine the presence of more subtle forms of discrimination (e.g., homophobia, transphobia, religious bias) and understand the ways that this discrimination may impact the productivity and well-being of employees.

Dr. Lisa Ades earned her PhD from the University of Maryland, College Park in Counseling Psychology where her academic focus included study of gender identity & roles, power dynamics in heterosexual relationships, human diversity and same sex relationships. Prior to her graduate studies, Lisa spent a decade working in the political and non-profit arena on organizational development, team building and training. She has worked as a licensed psychologist in Washington DC for the past 12 years and opened her own private practice in 2013 where she offers clinical, consulting and training services to a diverse clientele. She approaches all aspects of her work from a multicultural, feminist, advocate orientation where she believes it is her duty to confront sexism, heterosexism, racism and oppression within the consultation room and throughout her professional endeavors.

Dr. Corinne Hannan

Consultant

Dr. Corinne Hannan earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology and International Specialty Certifications as an Eating Disorders Specialist and Group Psychotherapist. She is a licensed psychologist, professor at Brigham Young University, and also maintains a private practice. Dr. Hannan’s expertise as a clinician and educator spans 15 years treating eating disorders and body image issues. She teaches and trains educators, therapists, therapists-in-training, students and clients on food and body wellness, media literacy, body image and Health at Every Size. She developed a new researched-based course at Brigham Young University to increase awareness of the systems of oppression negatively affecting health and wellness to both educate and empower students around food and body. She is passionate about using science to positively impact people’s relationships with lifelong health and wellness, decrease stress, increase productivity, and enhance life enjoyment and meaning.


Brandon Williams, MSW

Consultant

Brandon Williams, MSW earned his master’s degree from the University of Utah in Social Work. He has eight years of experience working with children and youth in crisis, teens transitioning to adulthood, and youth within the foster care system. He has worked to create inclusive and diverse spaces within these populations. Brandon works clinically in Utah County as a Certified Social Worker. His target population is youth living a transracial experience. He has also worked with local police departments and public-school systems to bring awareness and understanding to the impact of race disparities within those systems. He is currently working towards his licensure to be a clinical social worker. Brandon is a transracial adoptee who is passionate about helping youth understand race, ethnicity, and culture and how it impacts identity development.

Laura Johnson

Lara Johnson graduated Summa Cum Laude from Utah Valley University in Communications. She progressed in her career while working from home for the last decade. After seeing the unique challenges people face while remote working with kids, she became a Certified Life Coach for working from home parents. The skills and techniques she has developed have been used by hundreds of working parents to create success in the workplace and at home. As a coach, consultant, writer, and speaker, Ms. Johnson is an advocate and educator for the overwhelmed parents juggling it all.

Trina Limpert

Trina Limpert is the CEO & Founder of RizeNext Corporation, an education and operations consulting company assisting organizations to successfully execute justice, equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives. Trina is a passionate leader and her company offers a unique blend of experience in driving engagement and operational execution to meet diversity & inclusion objectives.  Her prior corporate technology career spans across multiple industries and businesses at Novell, eBay and lastly at Oracle as the Senior Director of CX Consulting.  In her prior role as President of Women in IT at eBay she lead an organization of 1500 members across 17 countries. In 2020 Trina co-founded Tech-Moms.org an organization that educates and assists women re-entering or transitioning their careers into the technology industry.

Trina is a lifelong learner and higher education advocate. She attended Weber State University receiving an associate degree in Computer Science, bachelor’s degree in Business and Information Systems from the University of Phoenix, an Executive MBA at the University of Utah, and certificate in Driving Corporate Strategy from Harvard University.

Trina currently serves on the Women’s Success Center Board of Advisors at Utah Valley University, Board of Advisors for Weber State University School of Engineering, Applied Science and Technology, and on the National Advisory Committee at Weber State University, and serves on the Salt Lake Chamber Board of Governors.

Lisa Scott

Lisa is in the final steps of finishing a Counselling Psychology Ph.D. program. Her research and clinical work focus on topics of systemic oppression and its impact on individuals. Lisa teaches a university course in Women’s Career Development, and loves helping students understand the intersectional gender barriers that arise during career development, as well as empowering them to navigate these barriers. Lisa has consultation and social innovation experience in the area of gender diversity (women's issues and LGBT+). Lisa’s writing and research on topics of diversity have been featured at academic conferences, in academic journals, and in the Salt Lake Tribune.

Jessica Edwards

Jessica earned her M.S. degree from the University of Utah in Communication Sciences and Disorders and has worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist in schools and private practice for over 12 years. She has worked with many clients with various disabilities and consulted for providing accommodations to enhance a better environment. She has been an advocate for people with disabilities for 12 years, is fluent in American Sign Language, and is actively involved in the deaf community.
